The present sheet was among a group of drawings and oil sketches by Pancrace Bessa only recently rediscovered in the possession of the artist’s heirs.

Provenance:
Among the contents of the artist’s studio, and by descent in the family of the artist at the Château de Castelnau in the Roussillon, until the 1990s.
